Dhrol is located at 22.57°N 70.42°E / 22.57; 70.42.[1] It has an average elevation of 26 metres (85 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Dhrol had a population of 23,618. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Dhrol has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74% and, female literacy is 64%. In Dhrol, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Education

There is a M.D. Mehta Girls PTC College for teacher training course.

Places of interest

Bhuchar Mori is a historic site 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from Dhrol where the Battle of Bhuchar Mori was fought in 1591. The site has a memorials of the people who died in the battle. It was fought between the army of Nawanagar State led by Jam Ajaji, son of Jam Sataji, and the Mughal forces led by Mirza Aziz Koka.

Shahid Van is near to Bhuchar Mori. The site is tourist attraction developed by Dhrol Municipality and inaugurated by Vijay Rupani, the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
