Dharmendra Kakarala

Dharmendra Kakarala (born 1981) is an Indian film editor, who works in Telugu cinema, where starting with Prasthanam (2010), he edited films like LBW (2011), Dhada (2011).[1][2] and Routine Love Story (2012).[3][4][5] he is most famous for editing the film Prasthanam (2010).The film was selected for screening in the Indian Panorama section at International Film Festival of India, Goa.[6][7] Also renowned for his films, LBW (2011), Routine Love Story (2012), D for Dopidi (2013),[8][9] Mallela Theeram Lo Sirimalle Puvvu (2013), Chandamama Kathalu (2014). The film bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for the year 2014.,[10] Asura (2015) which was good hit and critically acclaimed as well Guntur Talkies (2016) collected a gross of 8.17 crores, while it was made in a budget of 1.5 crores. PSV Garuda Vega (2017) film is a big surprise in Telugu film industry, a racy action thriller got accolades for editing especially and also he supervised the sound design which is very special for this film, It collected a gross of 33 crores, while it was made in a budget of 16 crores and for film Hello (2017) worked specially on sound supervision.presently editing the Netflix Original series Baahubali: Before the Beginning produced by Arka Media Works and Netflix

Early life and education

Born to Kakarala Ramesh Kumar & K vasanta, his family great-grandfather K Balakrishna Rao a barrister and landlord, Grand Father Dr K Dharma Rao is a very famous Physician in Eluru Grand mother K Lalitha Devi a women activist and NGO a very renowned family in Eluru Andhra Pradesh, he obtained a degree in BA, but left the field to pursue film.

Career

After few attempts for civil, He decided to study film making at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. A 2004 pass out from the film institute he worked as associate editor for films Oka V Chitram (2005), Rakhee (2006), Lakshmi Kalyanam (2006), Mysamma (2006), Adi Vishnu (2008), Mestry (2009), Bangaaru Babu (2009), Chandamama (2009), before editing his First Film Prasthanam (2010) which is written and directed by Deva Katta.
