Deinacrida fallai
Deinacrida fallai or Poor Knights giant weta is a species of insect in the family Anostostomatidae.[1] It is endemic to the Poor Knights Islands, of northern New Zealand.[1] Deinacrida fallai are commonly called giant weta due to their large size.[1] They are one of the largest insects, with a body length measuring up to 73 mm.[1] Their size is an example of island gigantism.[1]
