David Quarrey

David Quarrey CMG[1] (born 1966) is a British diplomat and the Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Deputy National Security Adviser along with Alex Ellis.[2][3] He was the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Israel from 2015 to 2019.[4]

Quarrey, who joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1994,[5][6] previously directed its Near East and North Africa Department. He has also served as a British diplomat in Harare, in Delhi and at the United Nations in New York. When Tony Blair was British prime minister, he was his private secretary for two years.[7]

Quarrey's term as ambassador to Israel ended in June 2019. He was replaced by Neil Wigan.[8]

Quarrey was Britain's first openly gay ambassador.[7] His husband is Aldo Oliver Henriquez.[9]
