David H. Nutt is an American lawyer and philanthropist. He is the richest person in the US state of Mississippi.

Early life
David H. Nutt graduated from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi.[1]
Career
Nutt is a lawyer.[1] He has defended Richard Scruggs.[1][2] He has also "represented clients in asbestos, drug, healthcare fraud and environmental litigation."[1]
Philanthropy
In 1999, he agreed to donate $14.5 million to the University of Mississippi, which he had attended.[1] As a result, the David H. Nutt Auditorium on its campus is named in his honor.[1][3]
Personal life
He resides in Ridgeland, Mississippi.[1] He also owns the Canadian River Cattle Ranch, a 71,000-acre ranch in Oldham County, Texas.[2] As of 2014, he was worth an estimated US$880 million.[1] [4]
