Darko Ćulum

Darko Ćulum (Serbian Cyrillic: Дарко Ћулум; born 11 January 1969) is a police officer from Republika Srpska, Director of Police of Republika Srpska from 2016 with the rank of chief general inspector of police.

Life and career

Darko Ćulum is born in small village Ljubačevo, 8 km southern from Banja Luka. He graduated Secondary police school in Sarajevo on 1988 when he became a police officer. On 1998 he finished his education on Faculty of Philosophy in Banja Luka and on 2009 he graduated on Faculty of Security also in Banja Luka.[1]

During his career, Ćulum worked on many duties of police officer and inspector. From April 1999 he worked as chief of Group for preventing serious thefts. His next position started on October 2003 when he became chief of Department fighting serious crimes. Between 2006 and 2010 he was chief of the Sector of crime police of Center of public security Banja Luka and between 2010 and 2012 he was chief of the center of public security. On February 2012 he became chief of Administration of Police and from February 2015 he was deputy director of police replacing Nijaz Smajlović on that position till his positioning on place of director of police on August 18, 2016 when Government of Republika Srpska proclaimed him as police director replacing former director of police Gojko Vasić, who was police director from July 2010.[1][2][3]
