Daniel Rodimer

Daniel Stephen Rodimer (born May 22, 1978),[5] also known by his ring name, Dan Rodman, is an American attorney, businessman, congressional candidate, and retired professional wrestler and football player. In 2006, he signed a one-year developmental contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Dan Rodimer won the Republican primary for Nevada's 3rd congressional district in 2020. He is now facing off against Democrat incumbent Susie Lee in the general election. [6]

Career

Before wrestling, Rodimer played football at the University of South Florida,[7] where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Rodimer also played semi-pro football for the Tampa Bay Barracudas, played for Arena Football League, and worked as a personal trainer.[3][8]

World Wrestling Entertainment (2006–2007)

He got into wrestling by becoming a contestant in the 2004 Tough Enough competition.[8]

On July 12, 2006, Rodimer was signed to a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment[9] and was assigned to Deep South Wrestling. His first match came on September 7, when he defeated Heath Miller. On September 24, he had his first televised match in DSW as Dan Rodimer, defeating Tommy Suede.[10]

Rodimer spent the first half of 2007 wrestling primarily in Ohio Valley Wrestling, WWE's other developmental territory. He feuded with Atlas DaBone throughout February and March.

Rodimer made his debut on Heat, losing to Eugene. Rodimer then returned to OVW. He appeared on Heat twice more that year. Rodman was then transferred to the new Florida Championship Wrestling territory. However, Rodimer was released from his contract on August 22, 2007.[11]

Political career

In 2018, Rodimer ran for Nevada State Senate with a focus on school safety and education.[12][13]

In 2019, Rodimer announced his bid for Nevada's 3rd U.S. Congressional seat.[14] Rodimer was named as one of GOP's Young Guns Contender 2020, a NRCC program honoring candidates who have reached certain fundraising and organizational thresholds.[15][16] Rodimer is endorsed by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.[17]

Rodimer has also been endorsed by the National Rifle Association,[18] the National Right to Life Committee,[19] the American Conservative Union,[20] former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt,[19] and Pawn Stars' Rick Harrison.[21]

Personal life

Rodimer grew up in Rockaway, New Jersey and attended Seton Hall Preparatory High School in West Orange, New Jersey. Rodimer attended Ave Maria School of Law and graduated in 2013.[22] While attending law school in Florida, Dan Rodimer started a program with Child Haven to provide Christmas to children in protective custody.[23]

Rodimer currently resides in Las Vegas with his wife Sarah Rodimer and 5 children where he moved after law school in 2013. He was named to the Clark County School District Safety Advisory Committee in 2018.[24]
