Dance Pool

Dance Pool was one of Sony Music's dance / house labels.

CBS Dance Pool started in 1988 at CBS Schallplatten GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany. It was the most successful dance label from a major company in Germany. Right after starting under the name and logo of DANCE POOL it dominated the German sales charts with acts like Mysterious Art, P.M. Sampson and Culture Beat and many others. The founder Stefan Trapp left CBS / Sony Music in 1992.

In Australia Dance Pool released a series of compilations branded as 'Strictly Techno' which ran to five volumes and a 'classics' release.[1]

In the late 1990s it was merged with the Sony Music subsidiaries Epidrome and Adrenalin in 1999 to form the label Dance Division.
