Dalida filmography

Throughout her acting career, Dalida had mainly thriller, comedy, drama, and romance films. She has appeared in twelve films, of which are ten action movies and two documentaries. She has two commercial appearances on TV. Before she started her singing career in 1956, she had two film roles, both in 1954. Her first movie was supposed to be stunt for Rita Hayworth in 1954 movie Joseph and his Brethren, but the shooting was cancelled. Eventually her first role was a minor one, in early 1954 after winning Miss Egypt, in movie Le Masque de Toutankhamon where she acted a dancer that is actually a spy. Same years she appears in Sigarah wa kas, from which came an iconic scene that was later often mentioned through her singing career, recalling on her debut years; Iolanda dances, sings and seduces her boss doctor in his family home, in front of eyes of his wife and other guests.

The rest of her acting career she spent by acting in B movies, largely main roles. None of her movies achieved big success as she dreamed to achieve, but every time she received the perfect criticism that pointed to her great, but untapped talent. She made the most effort and expressed herself mostly in her last movie Le sixième jour, when she even read the book before script, and connected herself with main character, Sadikka.

She also recorded several scoptione videos for her songs in the 60s.
