Choufli Hal (Arabic: شوفلي حل) is a Tunisian comedy sitcom in Tunisian Arabic, broadcast during the months of Ramadanfrom October 4, 2005 to September 19, 2009 on TV7. Written by Hatem Bel Hadj and directed by Slaheddine Essid from 2005 to 2008 and Abdelkader Jerbi in 2009.[1][2][3]

Premise

Sboui, a comic character, lives with his brother and mother many funny adventure in the old building of a fortune teller, and fall in love with her daughter. He works at the office of his brother, a psychotherapist, as a secretary.

  • Slimane Labiedh: Psychotherapist, he is the son of Fadhila and Hattab as well as the older half-brother of Sboui. The latter works as a secretary for his brother and keeps making blunders. Slimane is fed up with his brother and sometimes his family: his daughters, his wife and his mother who lives with them. He is nevertheless charmed by his secretary Dalenda.
  • Fadhila Labiedh: Slimane's mother, she lives with her son. Her other son Sboui, whom she protects from her brother when he makes blunders, also lives in the studio next door. She married twice in her life, with Hattab and then Omrane. She does not stop bickering with Zeineb and adores Azza, Sboui's wife.
  • Sboui: Fadhila's second son, he lives alone in his studio until his marriage. He works as a secretary and then courier in his brother's office, who keeps arguing with him. Nevertheless, he is protected by his mother. He is in love with Azza who then becomes his wife of which he has two twins: Omrane (of his full name Amr Omrane) and Sabra.
  • Zeineb Labiedh[4]: aka Zinouba Slimane's wife, she has her own shop, then her center and finally her pastry shop. She doesn't stop bickering with Fadhila. She is constantly jealous of Azza and Dalenda, Slimane's secretary. She is the daughter of Douja and Mondher.
  • Azza: Janet's adopted daughter, she works as an assistant to the latter who is sighted, making coffee for her clients. She then worked as a masseuse in the Zeineb fitness center. She married Sboui and had two twins. She is very often jealous of Dalenda, but both end up becoming friends during the series.
  • Janet: Adoptive mother of Azza, she is clairvoyant then cashier in the center of Zeineb. She is stingy and does not like to lend her money. Besides, she owns the building where Slimane and Sboui and their families live.
  • Dalenda:[5] Aka Dadou: Slimane's secretary from the third episode of the second season, she is beautiful and charming. She loves talking with Sboui and calls herself Daddou. In the series, she went out with two characters, Chekib and Wassim.
  • Amani: Eldest daughter of Slimane, she is malicious and angry. She goes out with boys despite her father's ban which does not allow a boy to come to his house.
  • Fatma: Amani's younger sister, she doesn't stop bickering with her sister. She herself is clever and disobedient.
  • Kalthoum: Maid of the Labiedh family, she keeps talking about her husband Daoued whom she worships and calls Sidi Daoued (Master Daoued) out of respect for him. The latter forces him to work in order to be able to pay him for his chkobba games. She is curious.
  • Douja:[6] Rich mother of Zeineb, she never stops traveling and trying to rejuvenate herself. She frequently comes to visit her in-laws. She goes out with Houssi.
  • Feyka[7]: Frequently called Foufa, she is Zeineb's best friend. She married a wealthy businessman, Taieb.
  • Béji Matrix : Best friend of Sboui and Slimane, he is a repairer of electronic devices. He keeps advising Sboui to make blunders to make fun of him. Very curious, he wants to know everything, especially about the family of Slimane and Sboui; when he was little, his friends called them khantush (the one who wants to know everything). His neighbors avoid greeting him in the morning because he thinks he is a bad luck charm.
  • Fouchika: Ferid, he is the childhood friend of Sboui and Slimane. He worked at Béji before becoming a caretaker after Béji had fired him. He's smart and smart like Béji even if he doesn't get along. He is also in love with Sonya in the fifth season and becomes jealous of Hamza when he learns that they are dating.
