Chinese Association for International Understanding

The Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU) is a Beijing-based non-profit registered in September 1981 whose stated goal is “letting the world understand China, and letting China understand the world.”[1][2] Registered under the Ministry of Civil Affairs,[1] CAFIU is reported to be a platform for the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China for international exchanges with academics, think tanks, and civil society organizations.[2][3][4] CAFIU's president is Ji Bingxuan and its vice president is Ai Ping, former vice minister of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China.[5][6][7] Yan Junqi is a former president of the organization.[8] The organization publishes a journal titled International Understanding.[9] CAFIU representatives attend and host events in support of the Belt and Road Initiative and One-China policy.[10][11][8]
