Chaetodon hoefleri

The four-banded butterflyfish (Chaetodon hoefleri) is a species of butterflyfish native to the tropical eastern Atlantic. They are associated with rocky substrate or sandy/ muddy bottoms. Their main diet in the wild are bottom dwelling invertebrates. They are solitary or are in pairs when mating. They can grow up to 10 inches.[1]

Care

Four banded butterflyfish require a minimum of a 50-gallon tank. They should be fed benthic invertebrate, and should be fed 3-4 times a day. The tank should have a rocky environment with lots of caves and other hiding places. They have a wide temperature range of 69 - 82 °F.[2]
