Centrists of Catalonia

Centrists of Catalonia (Catalan: Centristes de Catalunya, Spanish: Centristas de Cataluña, CC; commonly referred to as CC–UCD) was an electoral coalition formed for the 1979 Spanish general election in Catalonia, comprising the Catalan section of the Union of the Democratic Centre (UCD), the Centre Union of Catalonia (UCC) and the Democratic Union Broad Centre (UDCA).[1][2][3] The alliance was maintained after the election, with UCD and UDCA agreeing to transform it into a full-fledged political party in December 1979 with the disagreement of the UCC, which chose not to join the new party nor to field candidates ahead of the incoming 1980 Catalan regional election.[4][5][6]
