Cecil Textbook of Medicine

Cecil Textbook of Medicine (sometimes called Cecil Medicine or Goldman-Cecil Medicine) is a medical textbook published by Elsevier under the Saunders imprint.[1] First released in 1927 as the Textbook of Medicine by Russell LaFayette Cecil,[2] the book is one of the most prominent and widely consulted medical textbooks in the United States.[3] Cecil Medicine is often compared with Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, which it predates by three decades.[3] Approximately one third of its authors are changed with each new edition.[4] It is currently in its 25th edition. The 26th edition is due to be released in October 2019.

The book has been described as "one of the most outstanding textbooks of medicine ever written".[5]
