Biography

The only child of a housewife mother and father who works in a security firm,[3] Wong was raised in a Chinese-speaking family. Her father is Singaporean while her mother is a Malaysian Chinese. She studied at Evergreen Secondary School and graduated with a diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Nanyang Polytechnic in 2014. Wong was a blogshop model during her polytechnic years. She was scouted in her final year for Hey Gorgeous in 2013, where she made it as the second runner up.

Career

2013

Wong was chosen as one of the six contestants for the Preliminary Rounds of Hey Gorgeous in 2013.[3]

Later that year, having emerged as second runner-up, Wong starred in her first drama, Scrum, broadcast in February 2014. Wong portrayed a disabled Sport Sciences polytechnic student.

2014–2016

She went on to play major roles in dramas Against the Tide and The Journey: Tumultuous Times. Her portrayals of a schizophrenic woman in Against the Tide, as well as that of a hot-tempered sweet soup seller in Tumultuous Times garnered her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress and Top 10 Most Popular Artistes. She was nominated for Best Newcomer.

In 2015, Wong played leading roles in Love On Air and TV drama Sealed with a Kiss. In Star Awards 2016, she won the Social Media Award.

Wong had supporting roles in three long-running TV series: 118 from 2014 to 2015, Life – Fear Not from 2015 to 2016 and 118 II from 2016 to 2017. Since 2015, Wong received the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award in the Star Awards for five consecutive years.

2017–2018

In 2017, she filmed Dream Coder and My Friends From Afar, which gained her first nomination for Best Actress in Star Awards 2018.

In 2018, Wong made a cameo appearance in 118 Reunion, and was the female lead for My Agent Is A Hero and VIC, also appearing in Love At Cavenagh Bridge.

She gained a second nomination for Best Actress in Star Awards 2019 for her role in VIC.

2019–present

In 2019, Wong had lead roles in Hello Miss Driver, and My One In A Million. She was later chosen for a lead role in After The Stars, but was dropped due to scheduling conflicts and considerations that she was too young for the role.[4]

Wong was confirmed to be the female lead for wuxia time travel drama A Quest To Heal. Filming began in late 2019 and it is set to air in 2020.
