Carlos Slim Foundation

The Carlos Slim Foundation is a non-profit organization established by Mexican business magnate Carlos Slim in 1986. It focuses on developing programs to bring social and individual progress for the most vulnerable populations of Mexico and Latin America.[1] The Carlos Slim Foundation develops programs in many different fields like education, employment, health, nutrition, social justice, culture, human development, support in natural disasters, economic development, protection and conservation of the environment.[2]

In 2013, Carlos Slim Foundation and Khan Academy announced a cooperation agreement to allow students, teachers, researchers and others in Mexico to get access to education and training courses by translating them into Spanish.[3] In June 2016, the foundation launched Aprende.org, a free online educational app, whose content was developed by the Khan Academy.[4]
