Brian Trowell

Brian Lewis Trowell (21 February 1931, Wokingham – 12 November 2015, Oxford)[1][2] was a Heather Professor of Music at the University of Oxford. He worked on wide range of topics but his work on the works of Edward Elgar was perhaps most noted. Prior to his post at Oxford he was the King Edward Professor of Music at King's College London. He also served the Royal Musical Association as president from 1984 to 1989.[3]
