Released in 1975, the song reached #1 on Billboard Magazine's Hot Country Singles chart,[1] and #78 on the Hot 100 pop charts. In the United Kingdom, the song reached #6 on the pop charts. In Ireland the song became a top five hit in a cover by Philomena Begley, who became a close friend of Spears and occasionally performed with her as well as recording a tribute album.
