Bindu Ghosh birth name is Vimala. "Kalathur Kannamma" is her first film. In that film, she has performed a group dance along with Kamal Haasan. She was very skinny When he took her to dance in the movie Servar Sundaram. Thangappan master looked at her and said, You look very weak and lean, you cannot not dance, you have to gain weight and learn dance then comeback here. He sent her back. It was only then that he joined the dance master Hiralal and learned the dance. He has given him a recurring encouragement. When Thangappan Master, called back to dance in the film Enga Mama, one day, he did not recognize her. She introduced himself. She dances to the group song "Ellorum Nalam Vaazha" She has been featured in Group Dance in all the films of Thangappan Master since then.[2]

Initially, she has acted in a number of dramas. then, she was acted gradually as comedy roles. She has acted along with lead actors like as Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Sivaji Ganesan, Mohan, Prabhu, Vijayakanth, Karthik in the 1980s. Her Notable movies are such as Kozhi Koovuthu, Uruvangal Maralam, Dowry Kalyanam, Thoongathey Thambi Thoongathey, Soorakottai Singakutti, Osai, Komberi Mookkan, Needhiyin Nizhal, Navagraha Nayagi.

She has stopped acting for several years and a leading weekly has reported that she is in a financial crisis and is unable to take medical treatment.  Reading the report Vishal has immediately dispatched 5000/- rupees from his Devi Foundation and has also ensured  Rs. 2500/- on a monthly basis.Bindu Ghosh is not a member of the Nadigar Sangam and hence Vishal is taking necessary action to induct her so that she could get the benefits applicable to aged actors.[3][4][5][6]
