Billy Wilson (New Zealand rugby league)

William Wilson (birth unknown – death unknown) was a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1910s and 1920s. He played at representative level for New Zealand (Heritage № 103), and Wellington, as a Wing, or Loose forward, i.e. number 2 or 5, or, 13, during the era of contested scrums.[1][2][3][4]

Playing career

Billy Wilson played Loose forward in Wellington's 33-18 victory over Auckland during the 1913 New Zealand rugby league season Inter-district competition on Saturday 27 September 1913, this would be Wellington's last victory against Auckland until 1988.[5]

International honours

Billy Wilson represented New Zealand in 1914 against Great Britain, in 1919 against Australia (2 matches), and in 1921 against Australia.[1]
