Basavaraj Kattimani
Basavaraj Kattimani was a progressive writer,[5] novelist, journalist and was also a member of Karnataka Legislative Council from Karnataka.[2]

Personal life
He was born on 5 October 1919 in Malamaradi village of Gokak taluk in Belgaum district of Karnataka. His father was Appayya who was an employee of the Police department and his mother name was Balavva. He studied up to Matriculation at Munavalli, Chikodi, Belgaum and Nipani. His mother was the one who nurtured his literary madness in his childhood. He started his career as a journalist at Samyukta Karnataka.[1]

- Kottala Mahadevapa has written a book named Basavaraj Kattimani on the life story of Basavaraj Kattimani and the book is published by Kannada Pusthaka Pradhikara[10]
