The place is famous for the Baniapur Cattle Mela which though is not as famous as the Sonepur Cattle Mela of Bihar, which attracts visitors from far off places. Famous religious place is samadhi of Lakshman Das And Shah madeen. It is also famous for smosa chat. From the month of January to February a big fair(Mela) is arrange at this place. The best sweet you can it in this fair is Gour ka jilebi which is less costly and tasty.

Nearest railway junction is chhapra junction (station code- CPR) which is about 25 km. It comes in kanhauli sangram panchayat. It is comes under baniyapur bidhan-sabha and maharajganj loksabha.
