Baltic House Festival Theatre

The Baltic House Festival Theatre (Балтийский дом) is a theatre in Alexander Park, Saint Petersburg, on Petrogradsky Island. The theatre was started in 1936 as the Memorial Lenin Komsomol Theatre and was renamed Baltic House in 1991. The theater was renamed again in 2000 to its current name: Baltic House Festival Theatre.[1] From 1936-1939, the theatre was located at 12 Vladimirsky Avenue, which is now the Memorial Leningrad Soviet Theatre. Baltic House moved to its current location in 1939.[2]

Baltic House has organized the International ‘Baltic House’ Theatre Festival (Театр-фестиваль «Балтийский дом») since 1991,[3] the international festival of mono-performances called Monocle since 1997, and the international festival of Russian theatres in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic States called "Meetings in Russia" since 1998.[4][5]
