Ayako Fuchigami

Ayako Fuchigami (渕上 綾子, Fuchigami Ayako, born January 16, 1975)[1] is a transgender female assembly member in the Hokkaido Legislative Assembly representing Sapporo's Higashi-ku ward. With her election in April 2019, she became the first openly transgender person to hold a prefectural assembly position in Japan.[2]
