Andy Kellman of AllMusic gave the album 4.5 out of 5 stars, writing, "Its stimulating combination of cerebral and seductive qualities makes for a grip that is tight and lasting."[5] Robert Alford of PopMatters gave the album 8 out of 10 stars and commented that "perhaps the album's brevity is one of its strengths, as there are many great hip-hop albums out there that suffer from too much filler, too many interludes and the occasional total misfire."[14]

MusicOMH placed it at number 62 on the "Top 100 Albums of 2012" list.[16]
