August 08 (musician)

August 8 is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and recording artist.

Early life

August 8 was born as Ray Jacobs and grew up in South Los Angeles.[1] His stage and recording name was selected because his father's birthday was the eighth of August.[2]

Music career

August 8 is an R&B singer and recording artist[3] that fuses R&B with influences including hip-hop, electronica, and dance.[4] As a songwriter in the years before he was releasing his own music, he wrote songs for artists including DJ Khaled—including his track “I'm the One”, which reached number one on the Billboard chart—Justin Bieber,[1] Lil Wayne,[5] Chance The Rapper.[6][7]

In 2018 August 8 released the EP FATHER in 2018, and was featured on the Wynne song "Spiral" later that year.[8] August 8 released the song "Blood on My Hands" in 2019, featuring Smino.[9] He is signed to label 88rising x Red Bull Records, and has performed with other 88rising artists at live music festivals.[10]
