Athletics at the 1960 Summer Olympics – Men's marathon

These are the official results of the men's marathon at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy, held on Saturday September 10, 1960. There were a total number of 69 participants from 35 nations.[1] Abebe Bikila, who ran the race barefoot, finished in record time and became the first sub-Saharan African to win an Olympic gold medal.[2]
