History

Asmodeus was formed as a project in 1990 by Patrick Sturm formerly from the band the Skrunch and Ko from the also just disbanded Rockats (psychobilly).

The band is named after the Asmodeus devil. After Arie joined Patrick sang lead and played guitar. Soon after he left and pursuited a medical career in Africa. Dim was asked to join and Arie's brother Dennis took lead vocals. Bothe were in a rockabilly band the Barking Bulls. The band began recorded a demo with 4 original tracks and 2 covers. Soon after Dennis left and Arie took lead vocals for the time being.

Their first Show was in de Koog with the German formation Scum Rats. There they were immediately noticed by the ceo of Count Orlock records. They were invited to play at the Monsters of Rockabilly festival in Tilburg and soon after that they were signed to the Count Orlock label. In 1992 they recorded their first album Psycho on Hell's Request[1]

What followed were many gigs in Switzerland, West Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.[1]

In 1997, Asmodeus released Digging up the King, again on Count Orlock Records. What followed were more shows in most European countries and the USA.

In 2005 they recorded "Diabolique Royale" on Tombstone records. Released in the US a couple of years later in the United States on the Texas-based label, Hairball 8.
