Arnar Freyr Jónsson

Arnar Freyr Jónsson (born June 25, 1983 in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national basketball team. He played 15 seasons in the Úrvalsdeild karla[1] and won the Icelandic championship four times and the Icelandic Basketball Cup three times.[2][3]

This is an Icelandic name. The last name is patronymic, not a family name; this person is referred to by the given name Arnar Freyr.

In August 2012, Arnar joined BC Aarhus.[4] On September 22, 2012, he set the Basketligaen single game record for assists when he had 16 for BC Aarhus against Aalborg Vikings.[5][6]

After his Úrvalsdeildar career ended, Arnar Freyr played for Division II club Njarðvík-b.[7]

Icelandic national team

From 2004 to 2006, Arnar played 26 games for the Icelandic national basketball team.[8][9]
