Anthony Spyrou

Anthony Jeffrey John Spyrou (born 31 December 1999) is an English professional footballer who is currently a free agent. Spyrou most recently played for Chesterfield on loan from Norwich City. He was released from his contract by mutual consent in December 2019 [2]

Football

Born in London, Spyrou was noticed by Norwich City scouts while playing for his Sunday league football team.[3] He joined the Norwich City academy in 2016, becoming an academy scholar.[4] From 2016 until 2018 he played in the Norwich under 18's team, playing a total of 26 games and scoring 8 goals, joining the under 23's team from 2018 playing 16 and scoring 7. In February 2019 he signed his first professional contract, committing himself to the team until the end of the 2019–20 season.[5] On 19 March 2019 he joined Wrexham on loan,[6][7][8] playing a total of three games during the loan spell which ended up lasting 12 days. On 23 July 2019 he joined Chesterfield on a season long loan after spending time at the club on trial.[9][10][11][12]
