Animation Masters Summit

The Animation Masters Summit (AMS) is an animation industry conference organized every year by Toonz Animation India. The event brings together animation experts from across the world to discuss latest trends in animation industry.[1][2] The event venue is in Trivandrum , the capital city of Kerala in India. The speakers, known as ' masters' of the event share their expertise and experiences with passionate animation professionals and aspiring young talent.[3][4] The event happens during April/May every year, from 1999.[5][6] The event is a cross-section of mastery in Animation, visual effects and Media industry.[7]

The summit also includes ‘Flying Elephant competition’ which is an Animation & Short Film Competition constituted to recognize upcoming talents in film industry. The awards are given away in Animation Short Films, Animation TV Feature & Series, Live Action Short Films and Short Film-Student Categories.[8][6]

Some of the notable industry experts who were speakers in previous editions of the event include Ram Mohan , Olivier Jean-Marie, Shilpa Ranade, Kireet Khurana, Gitanjali Rao, Sabu Cyril, Charuvi Agrawal , Rajiv Chilaka , V. A. Shrikumar Menon and Anjum Rajabali.[9] The summit use to have talks, interactive workshops and panel discussions which foster knowledge sharing for taking the Animation industry ahead, both from Indian and international perspective.[10]

Toonz Media Group, celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year, proudly announces the 2019 edition of the event, on 3rd and 4th May at the TechnooPark Campus in the picturesque city of Trivandrum, Kerala.


The theme this year is Connecting Content: Seeing the Big Picture. In this ever-increasingly complex global multi-platform, consumer-driven world empowered more and more by kids, our vision, understanding and capability to connect content, is key to success and at the core of animation excellence.

Recognized and respected industry talents and experts from around the world will share their experiences, reflections and learnings this 3rd and 4th of May in Trivandrum at the Animation Masters Summit, offering inspirations and insights into what it takes to have the vision, and connect and drive content in this invigorating new entertainment era.
