It is proposed directly above the Purple Line Subway at Pershing Square, next to Angels Flight and across the street from Grand Central Market. The 2.2-acre (0.89 ha) sloping site is owned by the City of Los Angeles. Currently, the site was the former Angels Knoll Park, made popular by the film 500 Days of Summer in 2009.[4]

Design

The Angels Landing development currently consists of two towers with residential apartments, low income housing, condos, retail, and an elementary school on site.

The proposed complex is currently in the design/funding process. The tower was approved by the City Council December 2017.[5] The developer plans to provide underground parking, as the site sits above a subway station.[5]

The first tower was originally designed as a super tall skyscraper at 1,020 ft (310 m) and 88 floors. The building was reduced to 64 stories at 854 ft (260 m). The design within the two towers remain the same. - 180 condominiums, 261 market-rate rental units, two hotels with 509 guest rooms, 36,000 sq ft (3,300 m2) of commercial space, and 39,000 sq ft (3,600 m2) to be used for an elementary school. 57,000 sq ft (5,300 m2) of open space fronting 4th and Hill, and a connection to California Plaza.[6] Tower two will be 48 stores and 542 ft (165 m).[6]
