Ambadawe
Ambadawe[1][1][2][3] is a village in the Mandangad taluka of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra, India.[4] This village is family origin of Babasaheb Ambedkar, one of the founding father of the Republic of India.

Notable people
- The family origins of B. R. Ambedkar, the Indian jurist, politician and social reformer from Maharashtra is from this village. His original surname was Sakpal but his father registered his name to school in Ambadawekar, comes from this native village name 'Ambadawe'. His Brahmin teacher, Krishnaji Keshav Ambedkar,[3] who was fond of him, changed his surname from the odd to pronounce 'Ambadawekar' to his own surname 'Ambedkar' in school records.[5]
