Alex Perici Calascione

Dr. Alex Perici Calascione (born June 17, 1962) is a Maltese lawyer that has been practicing law since 1987, principally within the sphere of corporate and financial services and international contracts.

Alex Perici Calascione joined Emmanuel Mallia and Associates (Malta) as a trainee in 1984 and became a member on graduation in 1986. Throughout his career, Dr. Perici Calscione acted as legal advisor to a number of leading Maltese and foreign companies and organizations. He has also assisted a number of companies and organizations in the identification of EU funds for their particular projects. Dr. Perici Calascione was appointed Commissioner of Justice by the Prime Minister of Malta in 1991 and served until 1996. He was a member of the legal team appearing for Malta in one of the proceedings before The European Court of Justice. In 1996, Dr. Perici Calascione became a partner at Emmanuel Mallia and Associates (Malta). He is a founding partner of PCM Legal.

Voluntary Organisations

Dr. Alex Perici Calscione has worked for a number of years within the sphere of voluntary organizations for disabled persons, primarily on the board of governors of Razzett tal-Hbiberija between 1998 and 2008.

Political Involvement

Dr. Alex Perici Calascione is a member of the Nationalist Party (Partit Nazzjonalista) and on September 10, 2008 was approved as a candidate for the European Parliament elections, on behalf of the European People's Party–European Democrats. He served as a Director of the Board of AZAD (the Academy for the Development of a Democratic Environment). He was elected to the Executive Committee of the Nationalist Party in March 2013 and subsequently elected to the post of Party Treasurer and Member of the Administrative Council. He was elected once again to the Executive Committee of the Nationalist Party and subsequently confirmed as Party Treasurer on the 4th. June 2015. On the 23rd. February 2016 he was approved by the Nationalist Party as a candidate for the forthcoming General Elections.

Education

Alex started primary school at St. Joseph Convent in Blata l-Bajda in 1966. In 1973 he entered St Aloysius' College in Birkirkara, where he obtained secondary education up to sixth form until 1980. He read law at the University of Malta from 1980 and graduated as Doctor of Laws in 1986.

Family life

Alex married MayAnne née Pisani on May 3, 1986. They have three children: Maria Elena, Veronica Anne, and John Joseph.
