Adolphe Charlet

Adolphe Charlet (22 June 1908 - 20 March 2009) was a French sculptor. He won the Prix de Rome in Sculpture in 1938.

Early life

Adolphe Charlet was born on 22 June 1908 in Verdun.[1] He graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts.[2]

Career

Charlet won the Prix de Rome in Sculpture in for Je m'appelle Légion 1938.[1][2]

After World War II, Charlet remodelled Monument à Camille Desmoulins, a public sculpture of Camille Desmoulins in Guise, to the design of Félix Charpentier.[3] The sculpture had been stolen by the German invaders both in World War I and World War II.[3]

Death

Charlet died on 20 March 2009.
