Abdur Rahman Bodi

Abdur Rahman Bodi is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the present Member of Parliament from Cox's Bazar.[1] He was accused of Yaba business and widely known as yaba drug lord in Bangladesh.

Career

He was elected to parliament from Cox's Bazar.[2]

Controversy

He was convicted and sentenced to three years in prison on corruption charges in November 2016.[3] He secured a bail from Bangladesh High Court in the case.[4] In July 2016, he was accused of being present in a meeting of Rohingya Solidarity Organization, an insurgency group in Myanmar, by Lieutenant Colonel Abuzar Al Jahid, commanding officer of Border Guards Bangladesh. A team of the guards had raided the meeting.[2] He has faced allegations of involvement in the Yaba trade, a narcotics.[5]
