Abay Weldu
Ato Abay Weldu was the president of the Regional state of Tigray, one of the nine states of the federal democratic republic of Ethiopia.[1] He was the chairman of TPLF (Tigray People Liberation Front) from September 2012 until he was replaced by Debretsion Gebremichael (PhD) in October 2017.[2]

Abay Weldu joined TPLF in the late 1970s and has served as member of the executive Committees of EPRDF and TPLF since 2000.[3].
