Traditions

The 632nd Armor Regiment traced its lineage back to the 632nd Tank Destroyer Battalion that saw service in World War II as well as the 132nd Tank Battalion and 105th Armor Regiment of the Wisconsin National Guard.

History

M-60 main battle tanks are lined up in the staging area at the Dundalk Marine Terminal after being offloaded from the vehicle cargo/rapid response ship USNS ANTARES (T-AKR-294). The tanks were used by the 32nd Separate Infantry Brigade (Mechanized), Wisconsin Army National Guard, during Exercise REFORGER '86.

On 1 April 1963, the regiment was created on the basis of elements of the 105th Armor Regiment.[1] The regiment had two battalions, but was reduced to a single battalion, 1-632 Armor, on 30 December 1967. At times, the battalion was part of the 32nd Infantry Division (later 32nd Infantry Brigade) and the battalion was also a non-divisional unit for some periods.

In late 2001, the 632nd Armor Regiment was inactivated as a result of a reorganization of the 32nd Infantry Brigade.
