"47 no Suteki na Machi e" (47の素敵な街へ, 47 (yon-jyuu-nana) no Suteki na Machi e, "To 47 wonderful town") is a song from Team 8 of Japanese idol group AKB48. It was released as B-side from the group 37th single "Kokoro no Placard". It was released in Japan on August 27, 2014.[1] The title of "47" is based on number of Japan prefectures.

Background & release

On April 2014 with the support from Toyota, AKB48 formed their 5th team after Team A, Team K, Team B, Team 4 and lastly Team 8. Unlike their previous existed Team, the main concept behind the formation of this team was "Idol that going to meet you". Team 8 formation have 47 members following 47's Japan prefectures.[2]

On July 2014 during their performance in Kobe it was announced that the team will having their own original song.[3] Later, on August 2014 Team 8 original song going to included in the group 37 single "Kokoro no Placard".[2]

Music

The song is composed to presenting every 47 prefectures in Japan and each representative members called one by one represent their prefectures names.[2]

During the production of single "Kokoro no Placard" on August 2014 the music video haven't produced yet. Because of fans request, music video filming finalized on December 2014[4] and later on January 2015 the music video of this song were included in "Koko ga Rhodes da, Koko de Tobe!" album.

47 no Suteki na Machi e has been redone in Thai by sister groups BNK48 on October 2019[5] as main song from the group 7th single "77 no Suteki na Machi e (77ดินแดนแสนวิเศษ, 77 Din Daen Saen Wi Set)" that released on January 2020. Like the original version, the word "77" is coming from the number of Thailand provincies.

The single released in two version, Type-A and Type-B with different track list.
