Élodie Clouvel

Élodie Clouvel ([e.lɔ.di klu.vɛl]; born 14 January 1989) is a French female modern pentathlete.[1] At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed finishing in 31st place which also marked her maiden appearance at the Summer Olympics.[2] She won the silver medal in the event at the 2016 Olympic Games.[3] She is also currently serving as the second lieutenant of the National Gendarmerie.[4] Her father Pascal Clouvel was a middle and long distance runner while her mother Annick Clouvel was also a long distance runner.[5]

She also took part at the 2019 Military World Games which was held in Wuhan and claimed a gold medal in the women's modern pentathlon individual event.[6] After returning from the Military World Games in October, she and her partner Valentin Belaud admitted that both of them were infected with COVID-19 after falling ill with developing unusual symptoms.[7][8]
