Zvezde Granda (Serbian Cyrillic: Звезде Гранда; "Grand Stars") is a Serbian reality television music competition organized by the Grand Production record label to find new singing sensations. The contestants are aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. The show features elements from the international franchises such as Idol and The X Factor. It is broadcasting on commercial television throughout the former Yugoslavia, airing primary on Prva TV in Serbia, previously on Pink TV, as well as other regional television channels. The competition has so far been held in twelve seasons with the thirteenth season beginning in September.

The show has had fourteen winners so far with various other contestants who have appeared on the show and gained success in the music industry like Tanja Savić, Rada Manojlović, Milan Stanković, Milica Pavlović, Aleksandra Prijović and many others. Zvezde Granda is arguably the most popular talent show on the Balkans with high viewership most of the season.

Concept

The show starts with a jury consisting of music stars and show's producers, led by the owner of Grand Production, Saša Popović, picking out the contestants in the auditions throughout Serbia and other west Balkan countries. Musical numbers performed by the contestants usually fall in the Folk music, then pop and sometimes rock.

Those picked at the auditions get a chance to showcase their skills by singing in front of the judging panel on televised broadcasts over the next few months. The show is consisted of six rounds, while in each round the number of remaining contestants is reducing. In the first round judges are enabled to see the contestants and are deciding exclusively based on their vocal abilities. Later on contestants are also judged by their stage presence and appearance. Finalists then sing live in big arenas such as the Belgrade Arena or Zetra Olympic Hall, Sarajevo or in the television studio and the results are based on the public vote or the judges. The winners are awarded with record label contract with Grand Production, an album or single and a music video, and material prize in form of a car or an apartment. I the 13th season judges are mentors selecting a team of singers whose assets they believe will allow them to win the competition. Each jury member has a professional team of people from the music industry by their choice helping their contestants with vocal performance and stage appearances.

Judges

The production jury, consisted of the show's creator, founder and CEO of Grand Production, Saša Popović and music icon Lepa Brena, can put a contestant through to the next round even without receiving any votes from the judges. Lepa Brena later withdrew from the show and Snežana Đurišić, a folk singer with more than 40 years of career, filled her spot.

The 2013 panel was consisted of folk musicians Šaban Šaulić, dubbed the "King of Folk"; Zorica Brunclik, who has sold 15 million records; Aca Lukas, arguably the most popular Serbian pop-folk singer, and Dragan Stojković 'Bosanac', famous accordion player and musician. Ana Bekuta joined the show in the following year, while Brunclik left a year later to join Pinkove Zvezde, also a singing contest. Jelena Karleuša and Marija Šerifović were brought in 2015, due to their popularity and success in pop music. Same year, following the highly viewed argument with Karleuša in one of the episodes, pop-folk star of the 2000s, Viki Miljković, perviously a guest judge, was made a permanent one. Šaulić, for same reasons like Brunclik, left the show in 2016. Since the 11th season there has also been a secret judge, most of the time a well known person from the show business, who's identity is kept secret for other judges and contestants. Former member of the metal band Generacija 5, Đrorđe David was signed in 2018 to bring variety as a rock musician. Same year, Lukas left the show due to personal reasons, allegedly because of disagreements with Popović and feud with Karleuša.
