Yitzhak Yohanan Melamed (born 7 March 1968) is an Israeli-American university professor. He is the Charlotte Bloomberg Professor of Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University, and the author or editor of several books about Spinoza.[1] He holds master's degrees from Tel Aviv University and a PhD from Yale University.[2]

On July 11, 2018 Melamed claims he was punched by a Palestinian man who made an antisemitic remark in Bonn, Germany because he was wearing a kippah.[3] The police confused him with the perpetrator, arrested him and beat him several times in the face.[4]
