Yamaleela is a Telugu film released in 1994. The film was directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy, introducing comedian Ali as the hero for the first time. This film was a huge box office success. This film was later remade in Hindi as Taqdeerwala, with Venkatesh and Raveena Tandon and in Tamil as Lucky Man, starring Kartik, Sanghavi and Manjula. A sequel for the movie titled Yamaleela 2 was released on November 2014.

Plot

The hero's mother used to live in a great palace as her husband was a rich landlord at that time. But later she loses her property due to adverse circumstances and her husband also passes away. After leaving the palace along with her 2 year old son (Ali), she has been living an ordinary life. One day, Ali happens to hear about the past of his mother and decides to make his mother happy by purchasing the same palace for her. So he becomes a con man to earn money. Bringing Yamadharmaraja, lord of Naraka, to Earth is a part of that plan. The rest of the story involves how Yama and Chitragupta chase the hero and in the process experience various hardships on Earth.
