Fictional character biography

X'Hal was born on the planet Okaara, and was once the greatest warrior in the Vegan Star System. After X'Hal was killed by the Psions, her lifeless body was subjected to brutal medical experiments, which turned her into an entity of pure energy. The now superpowered X'Hal destroyed the Psions and their lab, and returned to Okaara, where she is worshipped as a god.

One of X'Hal's twin sons was born a hideous monster, due to the effects of the Psion experimentation. He introduced the concept of warfare to the peaceful Okaarans, and later founded the Citadel. After merging himself with the Citadel's computer, X'Hal's son attacked the planet Tamaran. In the resulting battle the ruling family was killed. The Okaarans banished the evil son and were later forced to imprison the enraged X'Hal, at the cost of thousands of lives.

In September 2011, The New 52 rebooted DC's continuity. In this new timeline, following the war with The Guardians and Relic, X'Hal is encountered by the New Guardians, Carol Ferris, and Kyle Rayner, acting at the forefront of a new religion The Light and The Fire. Her followers espouse non-violence and peace, and she is seen to assist them by directly acting on their behalf, repairing damage caused by warfare and protecting individuals by shielding them from attacks.
