While women's football clubs have existed in Argentina for decades, especially in the rural, in 1991 that a grooup of clubs were allowed into the AFA (Argentina Football Association). Originality with seven teams, the country saw the number of clubs with female teams rising 35 in 1998, and then steadily plummet due to lack of interest.[1][2]
