William Edward Baily

William Edward Baily (1855–1903) was a resident of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He inherited his wealth from his father while still a child; his father had smallpox and died when William was 7. He married his sweetheart and had three children, two of which died before the age of ten from smallpox. He later became a major player in local brewing with Mansfield Brewery, having over 50 different brews of beer from hops grown in Italy, where his final resting place is alongside his wife and son. He also founded the Mansfield Museum, a local hotspot for tourists in the town af Mansfield.
