Immediately outside the Oval Office, Oval Office Operations staff manage the President's personal schedule, private engagements and immediate access to meet with the President of the United States. The last Director of Oval Office Operations during the Trump Administration was Keith Schiller, who departed on September 20, 2017, reportedly after White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly told him he needed permission to speak to the president and to provide written reports of those conversations.[1][2][3] On June 6, 2018, Jordan Karem was appointed as the next Director of Oval Office Operations.
