Wang Xiaohong (Chinese: 王小洪; born July 1957) is a senior police officer and politician of the People's Republic of China. He is a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Public Security. He is also Chief of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Biography

Wang Xiaohong was born in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. In July 1974, he joined the workforce. In December 1982, he joined the Chinese Communist Party. He graduated from People's Public Security University of China and Central Party School of the Communist Party of China.

In August 1993, he was appointed Deputy Bureau Chief of Fuzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee. Since February 1998, he was promoted to Bureau Chief of Fuzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau and then Bureau Chief of Zhangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau.

In May 2002, he became Deputy Director of Department of Public Security of the Fujian Province. In September 2011, he was appointed as the deputy mayor of Xiamen and Bureau Chief of Xiamen Municipal Public Security Bureau. In August 2013, became Assistant Governor Henan Province and Director of Department of Public Security of the Henan Province.[1][2] In December 2014, he became Deputy Governor Henan Province.[3]

In March 2015, he was appointed deputy mayor of Beijing and Bureau Chief of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.[4][5] In May 2016, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Public Security China and concurrently deputy mayor of Beijing and Bureau Chief of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.[6] In May 2017, he was confirmed as a Minister-level official.[7][8]

In October 24, 2017, at 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, he was elected as a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.[9]

In January 30, 2018, he resigned from his post as deputy mayor of Beijing.[10]

In March 2018, Wang Xiaohong became Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Public Security, person in charge work day-to-day (Minister-level official).[11]
