The violet-bellied hummingbird (Juliamyia julie) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is monotypical in the genus Juliamyia.
It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru; it can occasionally be seen in Costa Rica.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and heavily degraded former forest.
