Vest-Agder County Municipality (Norwegian: Vest-Agder fylkeskommune) is the regional governing administration of Vest-Agder, Norway. The main responsibilities of the county municipality includes the running of 11 upper secondary schools as well as administering the over 2,000 kilometres (1,200 mi) of county roadways, public transport system, 13 public dental clinics, nature/wildlife management, and culture/cultural heritage preservation. The budget for 2016 is approximately 2.2 billion kr.[1]

The administrative seat is located in the town of Kristiansand. The county council (Norwegian: Fylkesting) is the legislative body for the county. It has 35 members who are directly elected every four years. The executive powers of the county belong to the County Mayor (Norwegian: Fylkesordfører). Since 2011, this has been Terje Damman of the Conservative Party and the Deputy County Mayor is Tore Askildsen of the Christian Democratic Party.[2] Ann-Kristin Olsen is the County Governor of Vest-Agder. The Governor is the representative of the King and Government of Norway in each county, functioning as the connection between the state and the municipalities.
